How do we begin?

We start with 3 basic steps:

1 - Join the Group!

Spread the word about what we are trying to do. Get your neighbors to join us, too. The more people we have, the less it will cost each of us individually to hire a Security Patrol Company.

If there is not enough interest, then the idea is dead before it ever gets off the ground.

Once we have a decent amount of people, we move to the next step

2 - Have our first meeting via Zoom...

Here we will share ideas, compare notes, and start moving towards a safer, cleaner community. We will discuss the various types of Security patrols that are available and different pricing. We will also discuss Community Patrols, and clean up strategies for the Beach Parking lot, Beach Access Points, and along Ocean Blvd. I am hoping to have local authorities participate in the meeting as well.

We will need volunteers to act as Leaders and Organizers for their particular area - Giving out info, sending emails, keeping their block neighbors informed as to what we are doing. They could serve as “information gatherers” as well, working with others to investigate issues, follow up on questions, and whatever else their area may need.

3 - Follow Thru

Once we have had our first discussion we should be able to see what we need to do next.
Whatever it takes to get to our goal.
Once we are established, we can place signage and information in as many places as possible, letting the thieves and bad guys know that we are united. The more visible we are, the more that we can catch these guys in the act or run them off before they break-in, the more frustrated they will get and the sooner they will go off to prey on someone else. We need to show them that we refuse to be the victims, that we CAN and we Will take our neighborhood back.

It won’t be easy, but it is definitely something we can achieve. Once we all come to agreement on how we want to conduct patrols, we will need to make schedules, etc. But our first order of business is getting others to join our efforts.I realize this is a lot to absorb, and we have a lot of work ahead of us. But I also think our Neighborhood is worth fighting for. And I’m thankful that you do, too.

Thanks for submitting!
